Cataloging the Loot

At the suggestion of Ari, I've been spending the last few days cataloging all the stuff I've found in those tombs. From left to right, it's a red clay vase, a stone vase, a gold sphinx statue, a golden vase, and a stone cat statue. All these were found in Egyptian tombs.

This is an ivory statue from the Halls of the Lost Army in China.

On the floor are four bottles of nectar in different flavors. Two of them are the bottles of cherimola blan grapes nectar I made in France, the other two I found in the Celtic tomb there. There are also assorted gemstones there, lapis lazuli, turquoise, diamonds, and even a mummified teddy bear.

In the back row on the left side are canopic jars, and there are more assorted relics, both broken and intact. Pottery and vases are there, along with sigils from 6 Egyptian tombs.

Knowing the Enemy

The next morning I went scouting. I put on my best look-like-an-Egyptian-woman outfit and walked to the market. Thing is, being pale and blond, I couldn't exactly blend in with the woodwork. I stick out like a sore thumb.

I looked over the horizon to see if I saw anyone -- namely Samir -- around town. I did not, so I figured the coast was clear.

The thing about talking to the locals is that you truly never know who you're speaking with. "Could you tell me everything you know about Samir Amin?" I asked this one lady in the general goods shop. I wanted to know just what I was up against.

The lady, of course, told me everything. Samir claimed to be descended from the ancient kings of Al-Simhara; hence, why he'd signed on with MorcuCorp to claim the relics. He and his wife, Fatima, had named their children, Satis and Imsety, after ancient Egyptian gods.

So, I figured, his delusions of grandeur went far beyond general arrogance.

"There was a third daughter, older than the twins, called Cleopatra," the lady told me. "To this day no one knows what happened to her. "

Adoption Update

The next day, I was on the phone. Practically all day. Apparently Samir Amin has stuck his tentacles all over the adoption agency. I knew he was well connected but not THIS well connected. I found out from Layla that a relative of his is in charge of the adoption agency!
Samir Amin thinks I'm some little girl from some backwater town in the states who just up and decided she wanted to 'do some good' and adopt a couple kids from a foreign country. Most of you reading this blog know I'm not that little girl. And that is not the situation, at all.

He wants to break me. Discourage me. But I'm not easily broken. I'm a lot tougher than I look.

On a lighter note, I managed to get the snake out of the basket while snake-charming, finally.

I fixed the sink in the food kitchen, too.

But my eyes were on the prize... just one moment with Imsety.
